ABOUT PAU

Pau was born in Barcelone, Catalonia, Spain and grew up half way between Spain, Switzerland and Germany, which probably shaped his always curious personality.

From the scientific point of view, Pau has a bachelor in chemistry, a master in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and a doctorate in Nanoscience and Nanopharmacotherapy.

Since he started the bachelor studies in chemistry nine years ago, he has always combined both his education and work.

During his bachelor studies he had the opportunity to join the Nanobiotechnological polymers division at Ecopol Tech Company to perform a mind changing research internship. During that time he learned how to synthesize and characterize amphiphilic polymers to be used as stabilizers and surfactants for the cosmetic and pharmaceutic industry. The following year he finished the chemistry bachelor and performed another research internship. In that case, he joined the medicinal chemistry department at Almirall, a pharmaceutical company, where he gained experience in organic synthesis of small molecules to treat autoimmune diseases such as asthma and psoriasis.

Then, he joined Professor Albericio’s lab at IRB Barcelona to perform the master and PhD studies in close collaboration with Ecopol Tech. During that time he focused in the synthesis, characterization and biological testing of novel polyurethane-polyurea polymers and nanoparticles for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors. His research lead to a patent and several publications that can be reviewed in his Resume and Publications. In addition, he boosted Ecopol Tech entrance into Nanobiotechnology market segment and another PhD student is currently further developing his research lines.

After his PhD, he joined the Ecopol Tech’s Nanobiotechnological polymers division and managed a team of skilled scientists to develop new cosmetic formulations for the specific delivery of actives thorugh different administration routes. In addition, he is also focused on the use of similar technologies for the creation of nanosystems for cancer therapyregenerative medicine and immunotherapy.

During all that time he boosted fruitful collaborations, dealt with new clients, oversaw a challenging cancer treatment project (Polysfera) and gained knowledge and confidence on himself to face with responsibility every project.

Today, he is head of business development at Ecopol Tech, where he has decision power to establish strategic alliances and joint ventures. He is seeking for industrial partners, hospitals or research institutes focused on biopharmaceutic experimentations in vitro and in vivo to advance the preclinical development of ECOSTRATAR technological platform.

At the same time he is key account manager of the distribution and marketing of Ecopol Tech's innovative range of polymer and microencapsulated cosmetics. SEE PRODUCTS >>>
